Q&A with Maya McEntyre

Q: How did you find out about Mosaic?

A: I found Mosaic when I was looking for something to give me a fulfilling theatre education! When my mom heard about Mosaic we knew it was exactly what I needed! And we were right!

Q: What is your favorite memory from your time with Mosaic?

A: My favorite Mosaic memory has to be our NYC trip where we worked with The Public Theatre. It was awesome because we got to talk to so many professionals and ask them questions and even workshop their production of Hercules!

Q: Did you attend college? If so, where did you go? How did your Mosaic experience support you in college?

A: I currently go to the University of Michigan as an Acting major! Mosaic really taught me about being a professional and that every day is an opportunity to make an impression on people, and I really think those lessons have helped me in college to make sure that I’m leaving the right impact on everyone I meet!

Q: What are you up to now? Is there anything about your Mosaic experience that you carry with you in work? In life?

A: I’m a Sophomore at Michigan! I am so thankful for the things Mosaic has taught me and the discipline it’s given me. I also appreciate the alumni support! This summer, DeLa sent me information on auditions and work opportunities, which I was so thankful for, especially as a new artist. I also really appreciate the people I have met and continue to talk to! We have several Mosaic alumni here in Michigan Acting, and we all try to support and show love to each other! It’s a family!

Q: Any advice for young artists?

A: Everyone at Mosaic is there to make sure you are successful. If you have a passion, or even just need advice, don’t be afraid to ask! There is something so amazing about having Mosaic as a resource, so don’t put it to waste!

Q: Please finish the phrase “Mosaic is…”

A: …a wonderful way to step out of your comfort zone and try new things!
