Carley

Q&A with  ‘23-‘24 Mosaic Youth Ensemble member Carley Brooks

Q: What brought you to Mosaic?

A: My interest in developing my skills and experience as an actor.

Q: Can you share a specific moment or experience at Mosaic that has had a profound impact on you?

A: A profound experience that Mosaic has had on me is learning how verbs and subtext enhance acting choices and character development. It helped me not only understand what the character is feeling but also who they’re directing it to, to get there point across.

Q: How do you see the skills and knowledge you’re gaining at Mosaic translating to your future goals artistically, educationally, and professionally?

A: The additional skills and knowledge I have gained have helped me to know what type of college works for me, what I’m looking for in a college, how important it is to have a resume and what opportunities lie beyond me.

Q: Can you share a specific moment or experience with Mosaic that challenged you, but ultimately helped you become a stronger artist or leader?

A: Something at Mosaic that was challenging for me was being confident. Before Mosaic, I was always afraid of what others would think but when we would do a activity individually I could only depend on myself to be able to do it. It helped me in Mosaic and in school when I’m doing projects and presentations, I don’t get nervous anymore.

Q: Please finish the phrase “Mosaic is…”

A: …family. Being at Mosaic has changed my life.
