At Mosaic, touring turns that experience into confidence, connection, and community.

Touring is a defining feature of the Mosaic experience, from our annual day-of-service, to community performances, to national and international tours. It’s one of the most powerful tools for growth.

Every performance whether across an ocean, across the city, or one block away at a neighborhood shelter, pushes Young Artists beyond their everyday world and into moments that shape who they are becoming.

Through touring, Young Artists develop:

• Professionalism & autonomy — reliability, initiative, accountability, self direction and leading others
• Communication — public speaking, audience engagement, and confident self-expression
• Adaptability — problem-solving on the fly and thriving under new or changing conditions
• Cross-cultural connection — collaborating and building relationships across difference

These are the same human skills colleges and employers look for.

We see it every day: youth stepping outside their comfort zone changes what they believe is possible and helps them walk confidently into leadership.

For their peers. Their communities. Our collective future.

They present a positive image of young people, Detroit, and our region — carrying Detroit’s story wherever they go. Amplifying their voices is essential to the Mosaic experience, positioning Young Artists as next gen leaders, artists, ambassadors, and advocates for a thriving Detroit.

This doesn’t end when youth graduate.

Mosaic alumni continue to embody and share these values on college campuses, in their careers and the communities they become a part of.
