Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit is thrilled to announce the return of in-person Summer Programming for youth who will enter grades 3-8 in the fall (currently in grades 2-7). Due to continued impacts of COVID-19, we are able to waive all participation fees, thanks to the generosity of our partners.

Mosaic’s Summer Camps are extremely popular, and to keep our teaching artists, young artists, and families safe, space in this year’s Mosaic’s Summer Camps is limited.  Total attendance is being capped at 165 available spaces, down from the 420 we have typically been able to offer.  In order to accommodate youth as fairly as possible, registration this year is conducted through a random lottery.

You may enter the lottery any time May 26-June 18th. You may enter for only one (1) camp. Entering earlier or submitting multiple times will not increase your chances.

On June 21st, after the lottery has run, you will receive an email stating whether you have been chosen or waitlisted.   Selected families will be directed to registration and will have until June 24th to complete.

Summer programming will take place outdoors.  Youth and team members will be required to wear face coverings, except when having lunch/snack..

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each morning camp opens with ice breaker games and warm-ups, followed by a quick snack break and pre-lunch workshops. Following an hour of lunch and recess, mindfulness moments give campers a chance to center and relax before jumping right back into the fun with afternoon workshops & rehearsal.

By the end of camp, it’s time to perform! Campers perform their show with video performances that are then edited and sent home via email for the entire family to enjoy!

If you are chosen by the lottery, it is important to register by the listed deadline.  Please let us know if your youth will no longer be attending. Failure to complete registration will forfeit your young person’s space to allow someone on the waitlist to join.    If you are not chosen by the lottery, you will be added to the waitlist.

Additionally, we ask that you adhere to our COVID-19 protocols and refrain from any domestic and international travel 14 days prior to the start of your young person’s camp session, so please be thoughtful when submitting for the lottery.
