Box Office | Student Matinees

The Michigan Humanities Council and the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA)
provide transportation grants of up to $500 to Michigan K-12 schools. The grant helps underwrite
the transportation cost of a field trip to attend Council- and/or MCACA-funded museums, galleries,

Each year Mosaic presents exclusive student matinees for Metro Detroit area students focusing on educating and exposing students to the arts. Each Mosaic Main Stage production runs approximately two hours. After the performance students are allowed exclusive access through our "talk back sessions" to ask and answer questions with the actors and directors. During the sessions students gain insight into what is required to create a professional theatrical production. These "talk back" sessions are optional and typically last 15-30 minutes.

A long-standing Detroit favorite, Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit's Magnificat: Mosaic Singers in Concert features some of Metro Detroit's most talented young singers performing an eclectic array of music -- Bach to Broadway, Gospel to World Music, and everything in between. More than just great singing, Magnificat is a two-act spectacular of musical, dance and theatrical delights!

Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit remounts one of its most popular comedic plays. A modern musical adaptation of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, Crossing 8 Mile satirizes Metro Detroit's urban versus suburban relations, mixing traditional Commedia dell'Arte Italian theatre and hip hop culture. This high energy farce tells the story of two sets of twins, who are separated as infants and are comically reunited when they "cross 8 mile."
